Dr Anna Kingshott

Anna was born and grew up in Hobart and studied medicine at The University of Tasmania. She completed her junior doctor years at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne including a Diploma of Obstetrics and spent time working in Psychiatry and Emergency before completing her General Practice training in 2013. She moved back home to Tasmania in 2015 and worked at The Royal Hobart Hospital Emergency department completing her Emergency Medicine Certificate. In 2016 Anna worked as a General Practitioner in Aboriginal Health in Alice Springs. From 2017 until today she has worked mostly in General Practice in Hobart.
Anna’s main professional interests are in women’s health and family planning. Anna provides IUD insertions both Copper and Mirena for women with or without children. Anna is qualified to provide medical terminations of pregnancy. Anna believes it is a great privilege to be able to help people maintain their health. Her favourite aspect of General Practice is getting to know families and helping them to stay well and happy.
Outside of work, Anna and her husband are kept busy with their three young children and enjoy going mountain biking and spending time at the beach. Anna loves to be outside and is passionate about Tasmania’s wilderness and all the adventures it has to offer.
